On March 23 at our 8th Annual LDV Vision Summit, Evan Nisselson, General Partner at LDV, will speak with Dr. Jepsen, the founder and CEO of OpenWater – a startup working on novel imaging systems that leverage lasers as well as optoelectronic & holographic systems to see deep into the body and brain with the detail of a high-resolution 3D camera. They will discuss how to make moonshots into moon landings & other stories in deep tech entrepreneurship.
In the lead-up to the Summit, Evan had the privilege of asking Dr. Jepsen a few questions.
In the lead-up to our second live community event, “Radically Transforming Fashion”, Abby Hunter-Syed, Partner at LDV Capital, had an opportunity to chat with Neha Singh of Obsess.
Can AI create visual metaphors for creative ads? Can it understand the contextual meaning behind them? Is it the future of content creation?
We are honored to have Dr. Lydia Chilton, an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Columbia University, in our Women Leading Visual Tech series. Lydia leads the research about the creative design process from a computational standpoint. She builds AI tools that enhance people’s productivity.
We welcome Dr. Kate Darling in our Women Leading Visual Tech interview series. She is a leading expert in Robot Ethics and a researcher at MIT's Media Lab. Abigail Hunter-Syed and Dr. Darling spoke about our tendency to assign human characteristics to the machines in our lives - anyone else ever apologizes to Roomba? How about cursed at Alexa? See how Dr. Darling thinks we should approach our relationships with robots.
More and more visual sensors are being leveraged in the commercial and home markets. From energy and real-time data management in smart commercial buildings, to home video security and monitoring our babies when they sleep. How will they empower businesses and humanity?
Every second of every day, people around the world are publishing research papers and launching new startups that leverage computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Researchers and professors want their work to be noticed in the midst of a flood of new work. Entrepreneurs want to build valuable businesses & get covered in top-tier media.
